Use AxiomBlue for a repaint with an added hallway before comparing alternatives

  1. Create the two-room quote in AxiomBlue using Add Section and preparation/finish descriptions. Retain the approved colour reference and convert the accepted quote to a job.
  2. Open the job from the painter’s account and check Description, Tasks and relevant uploaded specifications; uploads need Basic or Professional. Move an access-affected day and inspect the proposed assignment rather than judging the calendar alone.
  3. On Professional, approve the added hallway through Variations. Record actual time and paint in the job, then inspect fixed-price billing against the accepted two-room value and approved hallway; an overrun must not silently raise the fee.

Quote the preparation, not just the room name

Illustrative test: price two rooms with specified surfaces, repairs, protection and coating scope. Keep the assumptions visible in the accepted quote. Add a hallway after acceptance and check whether the price and time change has a clear approval record rather than simply replacing the original scope.

Give the crew the approved finish

From a worker account, locate the selected colour, product reference, surfaces and exclusions. Check how the product separates a current approval from an earlier option. Verify the required paid-plan access to uploads or specialist specification tools. A material quantity calculator does not prove the estimate covers preparation labour.

Change access during the multi-day job

Move a sample day when a room is unavailable and inspect affected assignments. Keep readiness, safe conditions and manufacturer instructions as human checks. Record actual labour and materials, then compare the invoice with the original price and approved hallway addition. Recorded hours do not automatically increase a fixed price.

Price the roles and required plan, then check the handover

Ask each shortlisted vendor for the plan and total cost for your actual office and field users, workload, billing interval and devices. Include tax basis, optional messaging, payment charges, training and exports. Keep a written result for each test: worked, needs a manual step, or unavailable. A feature-list tick is not a completed test.

AxiomBlue’s Free plan supports one user within usage limits and has no uploads. Basic adds uploads; Professional adds crew skills and leave, recurring job series, variations and project tools. Check the current pricing page for the team total. Try a required Professional process in the demo and confirm access before choosing a plan.

Common questions

Questions about this process

Does an estimating calculator cover the whole painting quote?

Check its scope. Quantities are useful, but preparation, access, protection, labour and the agreed finish still need their own estimate and review.

Put it to work

Your practical checklist

  1. Use preparation and surfaces in the quote.
  2. Find the approved finish from the field account.
  3. Test an unavailable room and changed day.
  4. Record an extra area without losing the original scope.
  5. Confirm specialist tools and the total team plan.
